Quartz infrared heaters are heating elements that consist of quartz tubes with a nichrome spiral inside, placed in a metal reflector. The metal casing not only protects the tubes from damage, but also reflects infrared rays in the desired direction from the back side of the tubes.
The main distinctive feature of quartz heaters with a nichrome spiral is their very fast reaching of the maximum operating temperature. The element heats up in just 30 seconds, and the surface heating stops very quickly when turned off.
Fast heating and cooling is a very important parameter that significantly saves electricity in industrial cyclic heating processes, as there is no need to constantly consume electricity for heating the radiator.
The heating elements of the quartz heaters produced by TEN 24 are hollow quartz tubes in which a heating wire is placed. This wire is from the French manufacturer RESCAL and has excellent quality and high resistance. This nichrome wire is wound in a spiral with a uniform winding frequency, and the power of the radiator depends on the frequency of winding.
The casing of the heaters is made of stainless steel, which has the property of reflecting infrared rays, so the infrared radiation from the heater will be directed in one direction. Quartz tube heating elements can also be purchased separately as standalone heaters.
