Tubular Electric Heating Elements are used in industrial and household appliances for heating various liquids or gases: water, oil, acid solutions (weak), calm or moving air, gases.

The power of heating elements depends on many parameters, the most important are the length and diameter of the heating element. The length in a tubular heater is the size of the heating part of the tube, without studs and insulator.

Design

A high-resistance heating coil is installed inside the metal tube, which heats up strongly when an electric current passes through it. On the sides, the spiral is wound on contact metal rods. A pressed electrical insulator is poured inside the tube with a spiral. At the ends of the heating element, the leads are completely sealed and the contact rods are insulated with a dielectric, so the heating element is completely protected from the effects of liquids or gases on the heater.

The electric heater tube is made of three types of materials: carbon steel is most often used for less powerful heaters, stainless heat-resistant steel for more powerful heaters, and copper can also be used to create a shell for heating elements for water.

The contact rods are immersed in the tube of the heating element to a length called the termination of the heating element (from the end of the tube to the beginning of the winding). This value is important in cases where it is necessary to create a cold zone at the ends of the heater.
